Cheverny is the hunting chateau of the Loire built in the early 17th century.  This is one of the few large chateaux that is still privately owned and used by their family.  Throughout its history, Cheverny has been used as the base for sport hunting, both of stags and wild boar.  This tradition continues today with a large and active hunt club based on the chateau grounds.

Being privately owned, it is completely furnished with an interesting combination of furniture.  In one room, the armory, there is armor and weapons from the middle ages, all clearly well used.  In other rooms stand wedding photos and computer work stations.  Clearly a home that spans the ages.
