Languedoc is located in the south west part of France on the Mediterranean Sea. We spent our time in the region between the city of Carcassonne and the Gulfe du Lion (Gulf of Lion).
For a slightly larger view of where we were, the map below should help. This is an enlargement of the boxed region above.
The circled cities are where we spent much of our time.
Our base of operations was the town of Cap d'Agde, right on the edge of the ocean. Carcassonne is the large walled city that defined the western edge of the region we explored. Mazamet was the northern-most point we traveled to and the source of wonderful leather goods.
Cap d'Agde is a resort town based on sun and fun. As such, it was a great place to relax. Our apartement was located at the yellow star. The dark star is the restaurant at which we ate almost every evening. The white star is the beach and playground.
