Not all of the historical buildings of Provence are ruins. The castle
of Tarascon is a fifteenth century castle that was the favorite home of King
Rene. The exterior is imposing and it is obvious to see why one would feel
safe here and why it would make a good prison. In fact, it was used as a
prison for many years before being completely restored.
The interior has been
cleaned and now contains a selection of Flemish tapestries.
